As séries Washington-Franklin de 1908 a 1922

Entre 1908 e 1922 os Estados Unidos emitiu uma nova série regular, trazendo principalmente as efígies de George Washington e Benjamin Franklin.


Aspecto das filigranas "linha simples" e "linha dupla" nas folhas

As séries foram impressas na filigrana em linha simples, linha dupla, ou sem filigrana. As denteações variam entre os padrões 12, 10 e 11 principalmente. Há também os selos em bobinas, carnês e os sem denteação.

Os métodos de impressão utilizados foram gravação e offset. Todas estas características diferentes produziram diversos selos diferentes, os quais podemos separar basicamente em grandes grupos:
- Filigrana "linha dupla", denteação 12
- Filigrana "linha simples", denteação 12
- Filigrana "linha simples", denteação 10
- Sem filigrana, denteação 10
- Sem filigrana, denteação 11
- Sem filigrana, impressões em offset

Os estados da Confederação Germânica

Como sabemos, a Alemanha foi um dos últimos países europeus a se formar, sua unificação tardia concluiu-se no ano de 1871. Os selos dos estados germânicos passaram a ser emitidos a partir do ano de 1849, desta forma, temos uma quantidade de selos bem interessante pré unificação alemã. Os dois mapas mostram a configuração territorial dos estados germânicos. O primeiro deles mostra a Confederação Germânica e o segundo retrata a formação da Confederação Germânica do Norte. A época estudada neste artigo compreende o período entre 1849 e 1923, ou seja, somente o tempo em que os selos dos estados germânicos foram emitidos. Neste segundo post da série nós veremos a segunda década dos selos Europa. Este foi um período de mudanças, pois foi o momento em que foram trocados os desenhos pelos temas comuns. Além disso, novos países foram incorporados, aumentando a quantidade de emissões. 1966 Barco estilizado com a letra C de CEPT, simbolizando o progresso em um mar calmo. Neste ano 19 países emitiram 37 selos. A história dos selos de natal (parte 1)

   Post número 262 Publicado em 19/12/2020 Foto de capa: cartão postal circulado dos Estados Unidos para a Noruega em 1929 com curioso carimbo "Etiquetas de natal ou de caridade colocadas no lado do endereço proibidas pelo país de destino". O natal é uma época do ano muito legal, e não seria diferente que fosse a principal data comemorativa a ser lembrada nos selos. Veremos nesse post como esse tema se tornou tão popular com o passar do tempo. Os precursores Emissão canadense de 1898, etiqueta dinamarquesa de 1904 e etiqueta americana de 1907. O primeiro selo a trazer uma menção ao natal foi uma emissão bastante controversa do Canadá de 1898. Os selos foram emitidos para comemorar a implantação do Imperial Penny Postage no Império Britânico e trazia o mapa com as colônias britânicas assinalados em vermelho.  Diz a história (que de certa forma parece uma lenda) que o chefe dos correios foi apresentar o desenho do selo para a Rainha Victoria e que teria dado uma ideia de homena
